Pies with Grandma

So last weekend, Erin and I went out to Grandma T's, and baked some pies. It was great to go out for the afternoon and spend time with her. We made a rhubarb and a dutch apple pie. I was surprised at how easy it is!! I thought pies took a really long time to make, but really, it just takes a long time to bake them. If anyone else has good pie recipes, feel free to share!

Interview Update

I thought some of you might like to know how Jeremy's interview went on Tuesday. Well I don't have a lot of information about it, because when I ask Jeremy how it went, his response is "Oh fine." I need more information than that!!! :) But the lady talked to him for about 45 minutes, and then said that he would for sure be hearing back from her within the next couple of weeks. She also said that she would probably want a follow up interview. Which I am assuming is another phone interview. So I guess that is what we have to look forward to, over the next week or week and a half. So from what I gather I think it went really well, but we are still praying about it. We would sure appreciate all of your prayers!!

Lovely Emmett...

So I just have to share a story with everyone, about our dog. Yesterday evening we were over at mom and dad's spending some time with Marcia, Joel and Annette. Which by the way was a lot of fun. So Jeremy and I get ready to leave to come home, and Jeremy takes the dog out, where he does his business and then comes back inside. So on the car ride over to Jeremy's parents house to pick up the laundry that was still drying there, I feel a warm wetness on my pants. Emmett peed on me. I was totally shocked. The one thing I had always told people was that as long as he was being held or on a couch then he wouldn't pee. It is when he is on the floor sniffing around that you have to worry about him. Well Emmett just ruined that whole theory for me. So I gave him to Jeremy (who was driving), and he layed right down in his lap and went to sleep. So I am thinking, he must have gotten really scared or really cold or something!! Because he is pretty much potty trained, and he hasn't had an accident in a very long time. Then we get to Jeremy's parents and I go in to get the laundry and Jeremy stays in the car with the dog (I am still in shock). I come back out and since Jeremy is driving, I put the dog back in my lap. I am not kidding...5 SECONDS after we pull out of their driveway I realize that my shirt is wet and warm. Now he had peed even more, on my t-shirt!!! So I threw him Jeremy's direction (well not really threw), and didn't know what to do!! I was like, this is not our dog. He doesn't do this. And what bothered me even more is that he immediately stopped once he was on Jeremy's lap. All I could do was laugh. I guess, at least I was laughing :). Jeremy was being very polite on the other side of the car trying very hard not to laugh at me. Thank you babe :). But I will say, that that did not last very long, and he was laughing right along with me.
So just wanted to share with you, the latest humor that the dog has caused. I still am totally confused as to why this happened, because he is very used to riding in the car on my lap, and has never done it before. But from now on, he earned his car rides in his pet taxi!

Jace Allen Cary

Jace Allen Cary was born July 24th at 4:00 am. I wanted to share some pictures with everyone!! I was so lucky to be able to be Justin and Kayla's nurse when they delivered. They both did a marvelous job!! Congratulations!! (I know most of you won't know them, but I thought who doesn't like to look at pictures of a cute baby?!) :) The pictures are thanks to Justin's wonderful photography skills.

Phone Interview

Well not too many people know about this, but I thought I would share, so that everyone can be praying for us!! A couple weeks ago, Jeremy put in an application, and sent in a demo reel to Invisible Children. They have an opening for a filmmaker/editor. (And if anyone doesn't know what Invisible Children is, I would be happy to tell you about it!! It is an amazing organization, that Jeremy and I have been supporting since about Christmas time of last year.)
Anyways...I guess Erin had been looking for this position to open up for him for quite a while, and when it did, she told us about it, and he applied. They just sent Jeremy back an e-mail yesterday evening asking if he could do a phone interview on July 31st, 3:00 PT. That would be 5 o'clock our time.
The big kicker here, is that Invisible Children is based out of San Diego, CA. And if Jeremy got this position it would mean us moving out there. So we are really excited for this opportunity for him, but also a little nervous about the idea of having to move again, after we just got home. So we have just been praying that God would make it totally clear for us, where we are supposed to be. And if Jeremy gets offered this job, it would be an amazing opportunity for his film career, so we really shouldn't turn it down.
I guess the whole point of this post is to ask for prayer. Especially at 5 pm on July 31st. And just pray that we might see some clarity through all of this.

it's about time...

I have really got to start getting better about updating!! I have been wanting to update for the past couple weeks but there were so many things to update about I didn't know where to start. (Well that is my excuse anyway). Lots of things have happened since our last post. The Thiessen family reunion, John and Erika were home, 4th of July celebrations, cousins from Wyoming in town.....etc. Not much to update about as far as Jeremy and I are concerned. He is still looking for a job, so prayers for that are appreciated!! The $7/hour he is making at the coffee shop sure isn't much! It is time for a "real" job :). Although he is enjoying working at the coffee shop downtown beause two of his good friends work there. Sometimes I wonder how their wives will ever get them to get "real" jobs :). We did have our one year anniversary!! I was dissapointed because I had to work the night of our anniverary and the night before and the night after. So we didn't get to celebrate. There were a lot of other things going on at that time also, so we are still hoping to be able to do something, but we will see! I can't believe it has been a year already...time really has gone by fast.

We are home!!

...And we have the internet now :). You don't realize how much you rely on the internet until you don't have it for over a week. We are both so so glad to be back home. Jeremy got all graduated and is now looking for a job. We are open to any suggestions anyone might have :). I have not started my job at Wesley yet, but am starting this coming Monday. I have gotten quite used to not having a job these past 3 weeks and am really liking it. I suppose I will come back to reality here, very soon. I am posting a lot of pictures from Jeremy's graduation, and our move back. I am going to try to be better about putting up post's now that we will have a little more of a life :). Our house is slowly getting put together. We just have one room left with box's that we need to clear out. We would love to have people stop by to see us and our house!! Just give us a call. We don't have much going on yet!

I am pretty sure no one probably reads this anymore...but I just wanted to let everyone know that soon I will be putting a real update on! Jeremy and I are back in Wichita, and have moved into our house!! We would love to have visitors!! Just give us a call! We are loving the new place, and living here...we don't have the internet yet, so when we do get to use it, we have limited time...which means my next post will be long with lots of pictures of our move, jeremy's graduation and the new place!! We can't wait to catch up with everyone now that we are back home! Much love!

almost done!

Well I think it is about time for a new post!! Seeing as how Jeremy and I only have 2 more weeks left in Indiana!! We cannot wait to be back at home. We really haven't been up to much. Jeremy has been really busy working on his senior project. It is a short film they are making. He is the director, so that is taking up all of his time right now. I am getting rather used to being home by myself, because he has been in the lab a lot! But it should definitely pay off for him. I have only 4 more nights of work left! I am really looking forward to being back at Wesley to a busy L&D unit, but I am definitely going to miss the people that I have gotten to work with here in Huntington. Jeremy and I got a chance to go out with some of my friends from work on Thursday. We had a lot of fun!! We went out to dinner at Fox and Hound (which by the way, has the best boneless buffalo wings ever), and then came back to Huntington, because we were going to go bowling. Well I guess the bowling lanes close here at 9, so we weren't able to do that, but we did got back to Travis and Becky's and we played the Wii. Diana had never played so that was a lot of fun! Then we watched Grey's Anatomy. It was a great night! Here are a few pictures of us. Diana and Becky have made it really enjoyable to be here, and I am really going to miss them. So here are some pictures of me and my good friends!
