Indy...

We had a lovely day in Indianapolis on Saturday with Aunt Liz. Jeremy wanted to go there for a tournament for his card game, so I spent the day with Liz. We had a great time! First, we looked at all the wedding pictures.......and the honeymoon pictures. I might have bored her, but she acted like a good sport about it!! Those of you who have seen them all, know how many there are and how long it takes. So by the time we were done with that, we wanted to go and get something to eat. She kept joking around about how she was going to take me to this nice "tea room." I could tell that there was something not right about this. But I was along for the ride! The place we went is pictured below. Notice the nice sale going on outside the restraunt. It was REALLY classy ;). I think you have to have a body full of tattoos, ride a motorcycle, and a tanktop on to go there. I felt a little overdressed and all I had on was a shirt and jeans. Anyways, it is called Mann's Grill. It might not be the classiest place, but they give you HUGE portions of food!! Liz got a BLT with about 3/4 pound of bacon and I had a breakfast meal, with 3/4 pound of bacon, 3-4 scrambled eggs, a plate of hashbrowns, 2 pieces of toast and a big plate of biscuits and gravy (which was supposed to be a half order). Needless to say I loved it! The food was amazing and really cheap! So we will probably go back there, and we will look out of place, but Jeremy will want to go. :)Well after our lovely visit to Mann's Grill, we ran a couple more errands and then went back to Liz's house to wait for Jeremy to get done at his tournament. Once Jeremy got back we went over to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and got to go to the museum and we also got to ride around the track!!! That was really neat. The museum was amazing. They have all the really old cars and then the new ones. All of the racing trophys and other things. Here are some pictures of us at the Speedway!

This is the front of the Speedway
as you are driving in.

Jeremy and I waiting on our bus
to go around the track!

On the track! Going around a turn.

This is the original brick starting line.
The whole track used to be made out of
this, but now they have just kept the strip
of brick at the start of the race.

This is another turn on the track.
The track is 2.5 miles long. It took us
10 minutes to go around, the driver
said that in a race they would have lapped
us 15-16 times!

This is Jeremy and I in front of the
winning car for the 2005, Brickyard
400.

This is a line up of some of the old cars
that drove in the Indy 500.

And lastly, they had a car that people
(I think it was probably for children),
could get in and have their picture taken!
So I did :).

Well we had a great time. We ended our day at this amazing restaraunt called "The Iron Skillet". They serve everything family style on silver platters! It was really nice. It was a good weekend before all the madness here starts! Jeremy just left for school today, and my first day of work was yesterday. My first day went well, it was busy for them. All of their whopping SIX rooms were full!! :) But the lady I am orienting with is very nice and we are getting along well, so that makes everything easier. When you like the person you are orienting with. Anways.......I think thats all for now! Chau.
